Using social For Business

One of the most popular searches on Google is ‘Using social For Business’ and with good reason. social is a phenomenon that offers new ways to find customers and develop relationships. It can also help to build and reinforce your brand.

In this article I will outline some of the practical steps that you can take if you wish to use social for Business.

use your social Profile – a full-detailed page becomes available once people connect to you and it is your opportunity to create an impression and stamp your personality.
use social Groups – you can set up (or join) a group on any topic. Within groups you have the ability to post text, discussions, photos, videos and links. As the owner of a group you can also send out messages to your members as often as you like. Members of groups can invite others to join and so it possible for a group to grow exponentially in a very short time. With popularity comes spam – so you will have to devote more time to moderating your groups as they grow larger.
social Pages – a social page can include HTML, Flash and social applications. Fans can sign up to your pages (and pass them on to their friends) and you can again send messages. DonâEUR(TM)t do anything naughty though, pages are monitored closely by Facebook!
News Feed and Mini Feed – the News Feed is what you everyone sees on their login page. It is a summary of what’s going in your social world – what your friends are doing, which applications they are installing, which groups they are joining – even simply changing their image, you get to know. The feeds are amongst the most powerful aspects in using social for business. Consider this for a moment. In our viral marketing campaign, we connect with others and when they connect, their connections see the connection through their News Feed. Should some of their friends decide to connect, then their friends see the connection. And the chain reaction goes on.
Groups, Pages and Feeds – the foundation to viral marketing. What many organizations fail to do in trying to use social for business is to apply what Malcolm Gladwell calls ‘The Law of the Few’. There are three types of people who have disproportionate impact on others – connectors (know lots of people), mavens (find new information) and sales people (persuaders). These are the people that you want as fans for your pages and members of your groups. By targeting these people, rather than indiscriminately trying to connect with hundreds of people, your marketing can take on a life of its own. Your marketing will be driven by people who know your target audience and whom your target audience trust. The key principle is that using social for business requires a rifle rather than a shotgun approach. You may be wondering how you get these connectors, mavens and salespeople on your side. The answer is simple – by offering something of value to them. Involve them in pre-launch activities, send them products for testing, ask for their opinions, hold events. You may notice the similarity with classic PR activities. That’s exactly what they are. In the digital, socially-connected world, these people are the new journalists.
social Events – social Events is an interface for promoting … events. You can create a page and invite friends to events through social and receive replies through the system.
Notes and Photos – you can share photos and blog posts and by ‘tagging’ they can appear in your friends’ News Feed. This is not an opportunity for you to broadcast your stock product photos. You need to be creative in everything you do. It is the unusual and different that gets passed on. Bore them and you will be ‘disconnected’.
use social marketing applications such as social Video, social RSS to promote your blog, IEndorse for testimonials and the various applications to connect with business networks such as LinkedIn and Xing.
Marketplace and Networks – in the past heavily spammed and so tread with caution.

Using social For Business – The Key Principles

To summarize, to make the most effective use of social for business you should:

participate by offering valuable and unique input
be proactive and create groups, pages and events

How To Use social To Build Up Your Business

How To Use social To Build Up Your Business

social is one of the most popular social networking mediums, and their membership numbers are increasing quickly. It is a great tool for networking; but like many tools available for networking on the web, promotional or marketing activities are frowned upon.

So be careful when using social and do your online marketing activities under the radar, or you might miss out on a powerful tool to boost your business.

In this article, I’ll give you some vital pointers to maximize the power of Facebook.

1) Just like any other social site, be careful what you put in your profile.

You don’t want to be seen as a link spammer. And you don’t want to give away too much personal information either (unless you don’t care that thousands of people may see your profile).

Just be careful with any personal details you put out there for others to see, such as where you live and pictures of your children. You do not want to pick up a stalker, especially when you are networking with strangers.

2) Don’t make the mistake of using your business name as your profile name, as this is against Facebook’s terms of service.

You are allowed to create other social pages to brand your company, products or websites.

3) Respond to any friend requests and carefully send your own invitations. Make them personal and interesting.

Developing a great network is your long-term goal to generate a slow, but steady traffic stream to your websites. Use this tool to your advantage without being pushy or overbearing. Facebooks members hate spamming (who doesn’t?) and will carefully watch out for anything that violates their Terms of Service (TOS).

If you want to see profiles of those from another network, add them as your friends using the “Add to Friends” button. Follow the steps in the Edit tool to fill out any information you want others in your network, or others you accept as friends, to view.

4) Use various applications of Facebook.

social has many applications which would make your networking experience easier or more enjoyable. Examples are applications for adding footage or photograph albums to your profile for others to see.

I’ll discuss two other powerful social applications in a moment.

5) Use Facebook’s “My Questions” application to find out what people are exactly looking for concerning your niche

This is where posters answer certain questions about themselves and what they are looking for on Facebook. They will also list their interests. Use this in your networking activities.

Unless they have expressed an interest in your field, do not invite them to join your friends list. Of course, you can still ask them if you genuinely want to be their friend.

But if you are there to network for your website business, then choose your friends wisely. This is how you are building your list and getting traffic to your website. So you have to manage your time well and eliminate non-productive activities.

Again, be very careful about Facebook’s TOS. Do not go against it because breaking the rules will get you banned.

6) Use “social Discuss.”

It is Facebook’s answer to instant messaging. Chatting, or IM’ing, on social is truly quite easy when you use social Discuss .

Just go to your social page and you can start using social Discuss immediately. At the base of each social page, you may see your social Discuss tools.

The first of the 3 social Discuss tools is the online friends tool. This simply tells you which of your social buddies is online at this time. The next social Discuss tool is notifications that may let you know if you have any new social notifications right from the tool. The 3rd tool in social Discuss is the real discuss tool.

 7) Create and join social groups.

Just as they have subscribed to your blog, they’re going to join your social group. So people looking on social for related groups would feel welcome to join.

social groups are viral selling mechanisms. Search social for groups on your topic and related ones. In each of these groups, you can post a message on the group Wall or debate board, or you may use the Post a Link feature to inform the group’s members of your group and your blog.

By promoting your social group at first, rather than promoting your blog, you decrease the chance the group director will remove your message. Any social member can make a group and invite users on their pals list to join.

A form prompts you to give the group a name, passing outline and class. At the following stage, you can customize your group’s available applications, upload a profile photograph and set privacy levels.

A secret group is fascinating for work-related activity, but it will not show up in search results. Choosing a closed group might be the best idea for you to protect your privacy. You will be inspired to choose members from your friends list to join the group.

When you start a group on Facebook, you can invite members to join the group and share their thoughts, viewpoints and consultations about your product, idea or start-up. Invitations to join a social group can be through your social buddies, your Yahoo contacts, etc.

8) Integrate your application into specific areas of the social profile

A social application can take on a lot of forms; but in order to entirely implement the selection of integration points and deliver a full user experience, it is advised that you integrate your application into specific areas of the social profile.

This permits millions of viewers to see your business everywhere on social and attract potential patrons, who would naturally visit your start-up Internet site.

Remember to follow all Facebooks rules; otherwise, you’ll risk getting banned and your account deleted. This is not what you are looking for. Instead you want to use the group feature to promote your website within Facebooks rules. Do not overstep by thinking you can get around the rules. Use social features to your advantage and you will see an increase in your website traffic.

Using social And Twitter To Market Your Ebook And Online Business

Using social And Twitter To Market Your Ebook And Online Business

Social networking has made the process of marketing your eBook much easier. By having a presence on social and Twitter you can position yourself as an expert in your field in a very short time. Even while you are still writing your eBook, get started on these two social media sites and become the go-to person in your niche.

social now has more than one hundred million members, so the best way to let people know about you and your eBook is to start your own group. You can use the title of your eBook as the title of the group you create, provided it is filled with your keywords.

You can invite your social friends to join your group, but people will also be able to find your group by typing your keywords into Google or any other search engine. For example, if you type ebook writing and technology into Google, my social group is number one. How cool is that?

You will also want to create a page on social with the name of the eBook as the title. A page is separate from your profile in that it is specifically about your business or your product, which in this case is your eBook.

This page will also rank high in the search engines, but that is not the only way it will help people to find you and your eBook. When you create a page you can also import your blog’s RSS feed into the page. This means that every time you make a post to your blog it will automatically be syndicated into Facebook. Even though you can do this in other areas of Facebook, being able to import your blog, where you are writing about your niche topic, will give your eBook even more exposure.

My strong recommendation is that you purchase a domain name that is the same as the name of your eBook, and then forward that domain to your page on Facebook. Your blog’s domain name can be something very similar, or it can be exactly the same with a different extension. For example, your blog may end with dot come, whereas your social page may end with dot net. This is a great way to take full advantage of your keywords, while branding your name and your niche at the same time.

Twitter is the other major player in the social networking arena. You can set up your account to automatically tweet your blog posts at certain times each day. When you write about your eBook in one of your blog posts, anyone who is following you on Twitter will see what you have written.

Even though you are limited to 140 characters with each tweet, you can shorten your links by using a site such as tinyurl or bitly. This enables you to provide great information about your eBook in the space you are allowed. You may also want to give out a sample chapter to your Twitter followers so that they can see if this is something they will be interested in purchasing. I recommend doing this while you are still writing, so that you will already have prospects when you are ready to make sales.

How to Create a social Page For Your Business

A social profile is the social fun side of Facebook. Friends can update their status, share links, show you their new photos and know what you are up to. A social page is the commercial side of Facebook. This is where you can use your marketing expertise and generate as many fans as you would like. The business page should be kept separate from your social profile. Keep the topics related to your products, the benefits of your products and free valuable information for your audience. Knowing how to create a social page for your business will help keep you ahead of the competition.

In order to create a social page, click “home” on the top right. Under your profile picture on the right click “ads and pages”. Click on “pages” again then “create page”. Follow the guide on social in order to create your social page.

Make sure you have a great photo. This would be a great place to put your business logo. Update your information tab and be personable. If you want to have a lot of fans you will need to have unique content.

In the empty box under the photo, feel free to state the benefits of your products and add in your website.

The viral factor of social pages is what helps generate a great amount of fans. If one of your friends “likes” your page, it appears on their wall. Now their friends can see which group so and so joined and they will have a chance to check out the page and “like” it as well.

If you are really looking to generate leads from pages and do not want to spend time inviting new friends or do not have a valuable friends list then there is also an option to make the page into a pay per click ad. These ads are far cheaper than advertising on Google and it has become a very popular method for business owners.

There is also the benefit of being able to create custom tabs. Your social profile does not allow you to do this. A custom tab could have whatever you want on it. There are no limits. You could have an opt in form to your business products, a link to your webinars, a video of yourself introducing who you are and any other option that you would like. It is kind of like a mini website in Facebook.

With your social profile, you are allowed a maximum friend limit of 5000. This limit does not exist when you have a social page. Imagine having unlimited fans joining your page every day! Knowing how to create a social page for your business will help you generate quality traffic and buyers.

Good luck

Hi my name is Lark Miller and I am the creator of Honest Income Online. If you are anything like me.. you love the internet and making money. I am currently combining the two and changing my life.

I am a University Grad who has found my dream job in the world of work at home opportunities. I like to travel, try new things, be outdoors and I love animals! The reason I started this blog is because I was sick of my 9-5 job and working for someone else. For the longest time I felt I would never achieve my dream job.

All through university classes and exams I kept asking myself.. “What is it all for” ? I searched for any job related to my degree and the pay was always less than 40K/year. I knew I was worth more than that.

After doing the right research, and meeting the right people and my efforts finally paid off and I achieved success which puts me where I am today. I want to meet, network and give back to other newbie entrepreneurs who are in the same situation just like I was.

I encourage you to check out my website and hopefully my story will inspire you to discover your dream job. Good luck with your success!
